01 · Problem

Problem

The museum association wanted a simple portable way to make collection objects feel tangible outside the display case.

02 · Approach

Approach

We 3D scanned museum items, prepared them for AR, and used the Zappar app to place each object on its postcard with short annotations.

03 · Outcome

Outcome

  • Collection objects became portable miniature AR artifacts.
  • The postcard format worked as both print material and digital trigger.
  • The project captured an early moment in app-based museum AR before WebAR was mature.

Worth knowing before you write a brief

AppsFlyer's 2025 benchmark across 28 billion installs puts Day-1 retention at around 25%. AR apps sit below that floor, because every reviewer is a single-use case, not a habit. WebAR removes the funnel. The link that opened the experience the first time still opens it the second.
