Audio-reactive Gaussian splats
Splatsonia turns a 3D Gaussian splat into a live, music-reactive visual in your browser. Load a splat, play a track, and watch it ripple, slice, scatter and kaleidoscope to the beat.

Built for play
Splatsonia is a browser app by flyAR that makes 3D Gaussian splats react to music and sound in real time.
Splatsonia is flyAR Augmented Reality Studio’s internal vibe-coding, splattalicious experiment. A playground for getting some motion and psychedelia into otherwise static Gaussian splats. Immerse yourself in geometric worlds, weird splat explosions and happy accidents.
Experimental, evolving, and built for exploration. Bring in your splat, play your favourite tunes, turn a knob, hit randomize and see what happens.

Inside Splatsonia
Load a .ply or .sog file, or drop it onto the scene.
01 / Load your splat
Drop in a Gaussian splat as a .ply or .sog file. Drone scans, product captures, portraits and whole streets all work.
Tab audio, microphone, line input or an audio file, analysed live.
02 / Any sound
Use audio from a browser tab, a microphone or line input, or an audio file. Splatsonia separates loudness, bass, mids, treble, pitch, beat and brightness, detects the tempo, and adds three tempo-synced LFOs.
Pick any sound feature to drive any parameter.
Motion: radial ripple, driven by the bass.
Break: slices on the beat.
Visibility: splat size and dissolve come alive as the track gets louder.
Colour: hue rotation driven by the mids.
03 / 50+ audio-reactive parameters
Give each effect its own source, strength and silent value. Add a second source with attack, release and curve controls. Bass can drive a ripple while mids scatter the splat and treble adds random motion.
A visibility mask and an effect mask working together.
Mask guides show exactly what is inside.
04 / Masks
A visibility mask reveals one part of the splat. A separate effect mask decides where effects apply, inside or outside a region. Both masks can grow with the bass and move with the mouse or WASD.
Protect the centre: your splat stays sharp, the world around it spins.
Every lens setting can follow the music.
Kaleidoscope lens.
Tile the kaleidoscope across the screen.
05 / Kaleidoscope
Mirror the camera image into sectors, tile it across the screen, stagger and rotate the tiles, or protect the centre so the splat stays sharp while the world spins around it.
Polyhedral mirrors: Seed of Life, up to eight copies.
Wireframe geometry that warps with the bass.
Tetrahedron mirror, kaleidoscope and torus. Lioness splat by Spenser Dickerson, CC BY 4.0.
06 / Mirrors and geometry
Surround the splat with polyhedral mirror copies, then wrap it in glowing wireframe geometry. Both the geometry and the copies can respond to the sound.

Ten ready-made looks, from Ghost Slices to Strobix Kaleidotile.

Get a new look with every click. Undo if the previous one was better.

Export a look, its effect routes and the camera view as a small JSON file.

Who it is for
Move the controls to a second screen and let the room’s sound drive the show.
Give your splats a stage and another way to be seen.
Use sound in the room to drive the visuals.
Bring a scan, try a strange idea, and follow the happy accidents.
Questions
Splatsonia is a browser app by flyAR that makes 3D Gaussian splats react to sound. Load a splat, choose an audio source, and more than 50 parameters move with the music in real time.
A Gaussian splat, or 3D Gaussian Splatting scene, is a photorealistic 3D capture made of millions of soft, coloured points. It is usually created from photos or video of a real place, object or person.
Splatsonia supports .ply and .sog Gaussian splat files. Drag a file onto the scene or use Load splat.
Use audio from a browser tab, a microphone or line input, an audio file, or the built-in demo track.
No. Splatsonia runs in a desktop web browser. Open the app in its own tab for the full workspace.
Yes. Export scene settings as a JSON file, then import it later with the same splat.
Use SuperSplat Convert to reduce the Gaussian count, lower the spherical harmonic bands, and export a smaller .sog file. Large files can also be prepared with streamed levels of detail.Open SuperSplat Convert ↗Read the performance guide ↗

Yes. We plan the capture, build and clean the Gaussian splat, and prepare the result for browser viewing. Guided viewpoints, labels and other context can be added when the project needs them.See our aerial 3DGS service ↗
Splatsonia is made by flyAR, a Finnish studio working with browser-based AR and interactive 3D. The app is built on PlayCanvas.
