Most modern mobile devices are capable of recognising planar surfaces around them through ARKit/ARCore-support. In practice this means that we can anchor digital augmented content to the reality around the user, for example a table, floor or ground. After launching the AR-experience, the user will move their device around a bit to help it recognise planes around it. After a plane has been found, AR-content will be anchored to it.
For plane-tracking AR-experiences we like to use the award-winning Zappar-platform and we have used it since their Studio software was in beta back in 2016. The same Zappar-technology is used by AR by Telia -platform, so we can easily publish AR to that platform as well.
